2 August 2007

So, here we find ourselves: in the last completely green month of the year already . . . August. Yikes!

I took this picture at 11:15 AM on a GORGEOUSLY moderate 72 degree morning. It was the first day in over 10 that the temperature hadn't been in the high 80s or low 90s. What an unseasonably hideous stretch of weather that was. I went outside as little as possible, and trying to keep the house cool was a losing battle, despite all our efforts. May that NOT be a foreboding of Global Warming!

July saw a high of 92.3 (in the shade, mind you) on the 26th, and our low was 47.1 degrees around mid-month. The rainfall during this ongoing drought was paltry at just under 2 inches.

I am looking forward to the early fall days of daytime temperatures hovering between 50 and 60 degrees!
